Medina is a unique Eastside community. Many homes in this city are located on the waterfront or have views of Lake Washington. Medina is currently home to some of the most expensive real estate in the country, but also has a variety of more affordable homes to choose from. There is an eclectic mix of homes ranging from charming bungalows built in the early 1900's to brand new waterfront mansions.

Parks and Recreation
Medina Beach Park on Lake Washington is located on a point at the south end of Evergreen Point Road and the west end of Overlake Drive West. It has fantastic views of Seattle, Mercer Island, and Mount Rainier. There is a rock jetty, a sandy beach with a roped off swimming area, picnic tables, and a lifeguard during the summer months. Sailing classes for kids are also offered during the summer months.

Medina Park is located in the heart of Medina, just off of 84th NE, and NE 12th streets. A run/walk/par course path flows throughout this large park. The park hosts beautiful ponds, tennis courts, and plenty of open space for other activities.

Fairweather Park is located at the north end of Evergreen Point Road. It also has a tennis court and is a nature preserve with many walking trails.

Viewpoint Park is a small neighborhood park, just below the Medina Heights area. It is a great place to take in the view of Lake Washington or watch the sunset.

Conveniences in Medina and the surrounding area include Medina's own post office, police department and city hall. The Clyde Hill Fire Station services Medina residents.

Medina is minutes from the 520 freeway which leads East to Bellevue, Kirkland, and Redmond, or West across the Evergreen Point floating bridge to Seattle. (Approximately 4 miles across.) The University of Washington is located just on the other side of the bridge.

Downtown Bellevue is minutes from Medina. Great shopping can be found at Bellevue Square and many other places throughout the city. The Bellevue Art Museum, public library, and the huge Bellevue Downtown Park are also located here. Other waterfront parks and shopping can be found in Bellevue and nearby Kirkland. Main Street in Olde Bellevue has an eclectic mix of shops and restaurants.

The Overlake Golf and Country Club in Medina is a private club located between Evergreen Point Road and 84th Ave. NE. Golfing and social memberships are available.

Public Schools
Medina is in the Bellevue Public School System. Medina Elementary is located at 8001 NE 8th St in Medina. Chinook Middle School is minutes away in Clyde Hill and Bellevue High School is just a few miles away. Click on the Helpful Links page to find out more about the schools.

Community Events
"Medina Days" is a week-long community celebration held during the summer. Some of the events include: sporting events and activities, a parade, individual block parties, a concert in the park, and a fireworks show.

The Bellevue Art Museum Fair is a huge weekend fair around the Bellevue Square area, which spotlights Northwest artists. It is usually held the last weekend of July.

Seafair is a month-long celebration throughout the Greater Seattle area. It culminates with hydroplane races on Lake Washington along with an air show, which can be seen from many residences and also from the Medina Beach Park.
